This flexible recipe lets you customize flavors easily, but the core version includes:
500 g pitted dates
1 cup nuts (almonds, walnuts, or a mix)
3 tbsp coconut oil or melted butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
2 tbsp shredded coconut (optional, for texture)
Step-by-Step Preparation
1. Prepare the Dates
If your dates are soft, you can use them directly.
If they’re dry, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain completely.
This ensures a smooth, non-grainy texture.
2. Blend the Mixture
Place the dates, nuts, coconut oil, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt into a food processor.
Blend until you get a thick, sticky dough that holds together when pressed.
Adjust if needed:
Too soft → add more nuts or shredded coconut
Too firm → add a bit more coconut oil
The goal is a dough you can shape easily.
3. Shape and Chill
Form the mixture into a long log shape and wrap it tightly in plastic wrap.
Place it in the freezer for 20–30 minutes.
Chilling helps it firm up so it can be sliced cleanly.
Once firm, slice into even rounds—just like the ones shown in the picture.
